Should I be grateful <br />that you hurt me? <br />Carved me back and forth, <br />left me in tatters <br />like Sunday’s roast <br />untidy on the plate. <br />Am I supposed <br />to clap my hands? <br />say I forgive you? <br />give me more <br />swallowing my anger <br />eating pain <br />like dessert <br />behind the beating <br />of your words? <br />Oh! And what about <br />my fragile heart? <br />No one but I, <br />without an ounce <br />of poetic nature, <br />no sense of colour <br />or design, no poise <br />no rhyme or rhythm, <br />just I, this mound <br />of self professed <br />ability with <br />such a fragile heart, <br />would take offence <br />when a random stranger <br />proclaims me dumb <br />and self deluded. <br />Not once but twice <br />as though you know me, <br />can judge me from <br />a picture <br />and words you say <br />you cannot understand. <br /> <br />Go play with the pigs <br />and root for pearls. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />This little rant was triggered by an exceptionally rude email at another site where I have been known to leave a poem in my wake.
