I put out a dusty old box <br />Filled with memories of years bygone <br />Then I remember one magical story <br />Which was to last an eternity. <br /> <br />I'd always seen them way back then <br />Found them really fascinating. <br />Always together but without a belief <br />That they'd be linked by destiny. <br /> <br />I got exasperated with both of them <br />Insisting they were just friends. <br />So I decided to let this end <br />'Cause they're meant to be more than friends. <br /> <br />I made up an excuse <br />Set them up with a ruse <br />That they had secret admirers <br />Not knowing they were each other. <br /> <br />Anonymously the sparks flew <br />And I knew exactly what to do. <br />Revealed to them about each other <br />And they laughed together. <br /> <br />With each other they were perfectly happy <br />At my scheme with destiny i was pleased. <br />I didn't make that work of art <br />It was there, right from the start. <br /> <br />Now the flashback's done, I hide the box <br />Seeing it was half past ten on my clock. <br />I dress in pink and fix myself <br />'Cause I've got a wedding to attend.<br /><br />Cristelle Elaine Collera<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/flashback-6/
