He may be a criminal and from the police on the run <br />But the mother will always stick up for her son <br />He has been harassed by the police and wrongfully served time <br />My son he never did commit any crime. <br /> <br />Though to the police they are very well known <br />The mother her children will never disown <br />My sons and my daughters are good people she say <br />And to help others out they go out of their way. <br /> <br />To her children the bond of the Mother is strong <br />In her eyes they never can do any wrong <br />Her husband has left her never to return to her again <br />But her children with mum are happy to remain. <br /> <br />Of the mother who doesn't love her children perhaps it can be said <br />That she is more than likely not right in the head <br />For the good mother to her children until death remains true <br />And the mothers who don't love their offsprings are so very few. <br /> <br />Though her son is a criminal the mother still say <br />For to help out other people he goes out of his way <br />And I feel proud of my son he can hold his head high <br />And though the facts prove her wrong the facts she deny.<br /><br />Francis Duggan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-mother-6/
