Our Inner Child
by Barbara Lynn Terry

There is a saying, that we should never
get too far from our childhood, because
it is the essence of who we are.

If we combine our childhood with the
years as we grow, we can have the
best of both worlds.

Men can teach their sons,
on the child’s level of understanding
making for a true father/son bond.

Mothers teach their daughters,
about the things they will need
to know as they get older.

But the children should always be told
to keep hold of their childhood,
because it is who we really are.

So even though we may learn as we grow,
we must always keep that inner child,
that we were so many years ago.

Barbara Lynn Terry

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/our-inner-child/
