I feel I belong here I don't want to leave it, <br />The sounds and the beauty of sights that I've seen, <br />Which capture my heart with a sweet understanding, <br />And thus fill my soul with its peace so serene. <br />The walks in the country when sunlight is shining, <br />The views of the landscape wherever I roam, <br />I found and discovered my destiny waiting, <br />For this is my truth and my spiritual home. <br /> <br />The patchwork of colours the fields and the pastures, <br />The way that the woodlands do speak unto me, <br />Forever they call by the wind and the breezes, <br />That blows through their branches so restless and free. <br />The downs rise in emerald like God's they're surveying, <br />The heavenly pastures and meadows before, <br />Serenity glistens in all of its wonder, <br />All that I wanted I need nothing more. <br /> <br />The streams and the rivers that wind down the valleys, <br />To taste their pure waters with life giving power, <br />And feeling at one with the land and its creatures, <br />And smelling the perfume of each growing flower. <br />To gaze at the ocean as blue as a sapphire, <br />The waves on the shoreline the surge of the foam, <br />To stand on the cliff tops and witness this splendour, <br />For this is my truth and my spiritual home.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-spiritual-home/
