The sea <br />accepts me. <br /> <br />Sees me <br />as no different <br />than itself. <br /> <br />I am <br /> <br />not apart from it <br /> <br />just a part of it. <br /> <br />The sea doesn’t see <br />me as human <br /> <br />merely a piece of <br />floating something <br />or other. <br /> <br />I become the sea <br />& the sea accepts me <br /> <br />until I am <br />now itself <br /> <br />& nothing more. <br /> <br />My mind <br />drifts to shore. <br /> <br />A wave <br />plays with me <br /> <br />lifts me up <br />& tries to stick me <br /> <br />onto the horizon <br />but I fail to stick <br /> <br />fall back <br /> <br />into a drifting <br />nothing. <br /> <br />soaking up sunlight. <br /> <br />Thoughtless <br />I float. <br /> <br />The sea <br />now pleased to be me <br /> <br />& thinking <br />with my mind <br /> <br />searching endlessly <br />for just <br /> <br />...the right words.<br /><br />Dónall Dempsey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/just-the-right-words/
