Alone I sit in this corner, <br />Cowering from life like it's <br />a sin, <br />And life goes on like I <br />never really existed. <br /> <br />Why the pain that I feel now, <br />It has no biblical meaning, <br />Perhaps loneliness has finally <br />taken its toll. <br /> <br />I am now but a distant memory, <br />To the life and light I once had, <br />A shell emtpy, devoid of pitiful <br />emotions, <br />And a soft heart forgotten to many. <br /> <br />Alone I sit in darkness, <br />Beckoning to the call, <br />And giving up false desires <br />to the weak and feeble. <br /> <br />I am now but souless, <br />Deprived of spirit and <br />fleshless concerns, <br />A mockery of who I once was <br />is my picture now. <br /> <br />Alone I sit in this cage, <br />A cage that I've made for <br />myself, <br />With bars made of tears <br />and a lock made from <br />tattered dreams, <br />Who can save me?<br /><br />Troy Clark<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-cage-of-tears-2/
