She leans against <br />the window <br /> <br />to cool herself <br /> <br />breathes upon the glass <br />to calm herself <br /> <br />& with a fingertip <br />writes: “Help! ” <br /> <br />And then once again <br />erases it with her breath <br /> <br />but it still shows through <br />like a ghost of itself. <br /> <br />She longs again <br />to look into his eyes <br /> <br />& finds she can’t <br />look him in the eye. <br /> <br />“Is this love? ” <br />she asks herself <br /> <br />as if she had forgotten <br />her line <br /> <br />& had to prompt herself <br />as he continues talking <br /> <br />not realising <br /> <br />the drama <br />that is being <br /> <br />enacted within her <br />self. <br /> <br />She closes <br />the curtains <br /> <br />lights <br />candles <br /> <br />& promises her self <br />she will kiss him <br /> <br />...now!<br /><br />Dee Wright<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/first-kiss-for-w/
