How foolish are your songs of pride <br />When Jesus seeks to come inside <br />Humble yourself reject your shame <br />Receive my Spirit’s purging flame <br /> <br />No child of mine will come to fall <br />Just those who think to know it all <br />My face from these I’ll surely hide <br />For as I live I hate false pride <br /> <br />There’s nought of self that man can boast <br />Your strength is of The Holy Ghost <br />He comes quite free no price to pay <br />But that you love and walk my way <br /> <br />Your pride is sin to holy eyes <br />Like shameful lust and evil lies <br />But yet there is a pride sin free <br />The sort mankind can have in me <br /> <br />With heads aloft I see the proud <br />I see them dance to please the crowd <br />Arrogant flesh walking alone <br />Devoid of truth in hearts of stone <br /> <br />My humble children understand <br />No haughty fool can dwell my land <br />Through pride their knees refuse to bend <br />And fail to see their dreadful end <br /> <br />The prince of pride who’s of the night <br />Was once to me a great delight <br />But pride took hold with sin’s desire <br />Now he awaits eternal fire <br /> <br />Obey my child when now I call <br />Allow through Christ your pride to fall <br />Receive the cup He brings you free <br />Drink deep His blood of victory…<br /><br />Michael P.
