Threw a kite out to the heaven
A gust caught up and up it went
So did I, a thousand feet and seven,
Powerless in wrath of nature lent.

Tossed around like a ragged doll
Pulled and tugged in reverse fashion
Sudden, stale air now cause my fall
From such height the green couldn’ cushion

But fine I am, no bones yet broken
My friend comes pulling me to my feet
Started to pour, our bodies soaken
Scurried without missing a beat

“Over here, to my house” she shouted
Down an open flight of stairs
Into a basement, that was flooded
A slum, a shelter, a zinc-roofed lair.

Next second I’m into a classroom
Familiar faces greeted me.
An empty chair my sharp eyes zoom
Next to a good pal ‘wanted to be

Spoke of words I don’t recall
But heated exchange with one guy
Flung my teddy to the ground with pall
Aye? It’s white not brown…. Why?

But I know it,
I was in control…

===
2 may 08
I am still baffled.
