i love to feel my blade <br />dig deep into my flesh <br />and see the cuts that i have made <br />i have a problem yes <br />i know that <br />people say its unhealthy <br />and you know, that may be true <br />but then i dont want to be healthy <br />the feeling when i cut soothes <br />my mom says im crazy <br />she wants to get me help <br />and that maybe just maybe <br />this is just a phase that will pass <br />but i know it isnt <br />i have tried to quit <br />but i crave that feeling <br />of puncturing the skin <br />i love the smell of my blood <br />sugar mixed with rust <br />i show my scars and just nod <br />while a new person yells <br />they dont realize what this does for me <br />that this is my addiction <br />that it sets me free <br />as my soul goes through sedition <br />my body is just here <br />just a shell for my soul <br />it is elsewhere <br />but where, no one knows <br />so now i wait for my therapist <br />im sure he'll quit just like the others <br />we dont have the money for this <br />i think i'll go find my blade <br />i started to take away the pain <br />and now that the pains gone <br />i cannot stop <br />this ride i will forever be on <br />because this, cutting, is my sweet addiction<br /><br />Rebecca Howard<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/sweet-addiction/
