I'm walking through a valley <br />where everything is bright. <br />No more anger or depression, <br />nor hot tears of spite. <br /> <br />I look up to the sky, <br />to peer into the mellow blue. <br />And that's when I remember <br />just how much I miss you. <br /> <br />Out of nowhere <br />the sky turned shades of grey. <br />My knees turned to jello <br />and I began to sway. <br /> <br />The rain would soon begin, <br />that much was clear. <br />So off I ran for shelter <br />despite my growing fear. <br /> <br />I was nearly half way home, <br />when my worst fear began. <br />The rain in my mind was falling, <br />and it was all that I could stand. <br /> <br />I ran a little harder <br />dodging the pouring rain. <br />I looked for somewhere to go <br />where I could hide my pain. <br /> <br />There was no one that could help me <br />take back all my mistakes. <br />At that very moment <br />my lonely heart did break. <br /> <br />For thoughts of you <br />will hurt for years. <br />And I'll just cotinue <br />evading tears.<br /><br />Julie Neises<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/evading-tears/
