Along time ago, there was <br />a man who met and fell in <br />love with a fairy princess, <br />well at least to him she was <br /> <br />The war came, and thier love <br />for one another seemed to <br />trully be tested by the fates <br />of time <br /> <br />Asking her to marry him was <br />the only thing he wanted to <br />do, as being in love and with <br />an obligation to war standing <br />in pride for is country, went off <br />with many prayers left behind <br /> <br /> <br />Nine months later came thier <br />first born, alone she gave birth <br />to him, while her husband was <br />off fighting in the war, bitter/sweetly <br />she felt as days went on praying to <br />God at least that her husband would <br />live to see his only son <br /> <br />Six months later home on leave he <br />arriived to see his lovely wife, and to <br />hold his son in his arms for the first time <br /> <br />Staring at him, lookng down, his mind <br />was thinking of how hard it would be to <br />go back now to leave his son and his <br />adoring wife <br /> <br />Off to war he went when the leave <br />had ended, however many years <br />have passed since those days <br /> <br />Together they had four children <br />and could not have ever asked <br />for a better life <br /> <br />Not a very special story, but it <br />is a true one, and to look back <br />in life now, you wonder how <br />inspite of it all, still remained <br />a faithfull husband and an adoring <br />father <br /> <br />As God took him home, he knew <br />he had lived, loved, and blessed with <br />the best children a man could have <br />Those were his Blessings of Life.......... <br /> In memory of Thomas J Collins Sr.<br /><br />Bonnie Collins<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/blessings-of-life/
