The tiny flower grows in shade <br />Its vivid colours will not fade, <br />Beside the fence so old and rotten <br />Out of sight and long forgotten. <br /> <br />Growing where a small seed fell <br />And for so long it's had to dwell, <br />Upon the dry and stony soil <br />A life of hardship and such toil. <br /> <br />One day it will lose the fight <br />When cold and winter frosts do bite, <br />Alas no one will seem to care <br />For they will never know it's there. <br /> <br />Hiden in the gloom it lies <br />Yet it will shine until it dies, <br />Whether life be long or short <br />Its time will always count for nought. <br /> <br />Beneath the bush with leaves so green <br />The tiny flower stays unseen, <br />Starved of light it won't grow tall <br />Yet it remains the best of all.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/tiny-flower/
