“Look over there! Across the lake! ” <br /> <br />White cap dust clouds <br />And bellowing wind <br />as bullets, <br />Graze skin and <br />sand castle lawns. <br /> <br />Out of the water <br />People are running, <br />Dripping wet suits <br />And hail stricken cars. <br /> <br />Me on the beach, <br />Her side by side <br />Distraught disbelief <br />At wind funnel formation. <br /> <br />A mile away <br />It's wave riding <br />movement <br />feverishly flying <br />As a chariot of Poseidon <br /> <br />All energy and air <br />water and wind <br />Sucked as a vacuum <br />in northward direction. <br /> <br />Loud bursts of lightning, <br />And deafening gusts, <br />sound as an air engine <br />Upon stall fire crashing. <br /> <br />I rub my eyes <br />Making sure that I’m here. <br />A tornado finds home <br /> in Central New York. <br /> <br />'It's Global warm weather' <br />my hippie love's saying <br />Strange days and fiction <br />with <br />Nodding agreement. <br /> <br />Then <br /> <br />As soon as it came <br />Disapearing <br />as quickly <br />sun breaks through clouds <br />and relief laden breathing. <br /> <br />If Dorothy were here <br />the witch would be dead <br />followed by munchkins <br />and beautiful scenery. <br /> <br />One things for certain <br />it's never occurred, <br />that I've seen a tornado <br />in Central New York. <br /> <br />Strange days indeed <br />and wondering <br />bemusement <br />funnel wind cycles <br />are for Kansas <br />no more. <br /> <br /> <br />Copyright (c) David DeSantis<br /><br />David DeSantis<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-tornado-in-central-new-york/
