I gaze into the pearls of your eyes,
Round as the earth
But shining the light of
Stars, galaxies, distant worlds.

The circumference of my world
Is the girth of your full hips.
I wrap my arms around the world.
For I want this world,
Nothing else.

I breathe in your scent of spring
That blankets your plains,
Your valleys,
Your mountains.
I breathe in all your world
Has to offer me.
The freshness of youth.

I move closer to your lips.
Sweet full lips, bountiful lips
Like ruby treasures of the earth.
Soft lips that part like tectonic plates
Concealing a sugary treat,
The entangling of luscious red vines
In a coat of nectarine ecstasy.

I am a traveller,
Whose hands have yet to cover
The four corners of your earth.
The matchsticks of your fingers
That strike up
The iron core of passion inside of me
That bring about a constant changing flux,
But no, not my love for you.

Should I let the endless waterfall
Of great oceans of emotions devour me?
Maelstroms of my emotions that circle you.
To devour a man ignorant of
The beauty of all figures but these two?
But alas! I succumb! To become
The man who wants nowhere else to be,
But 24,901 miles away from you.

For Lou.

*Note: 24,901 miles is the circumference of the Earth

Iohannes Silvaticus

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ode-to-my-muse-the-world-is-round/
