All I ever wanted was a peaceful life, <br />but all I ever got was trouble <br />and a lot of strife. <br />I wanted at times <br />was to be left alone in my own company, <br />but always people wanted to crowd me, <br />for what reason I’m not sure. <br />I still long for peace and quiet <br />something I never seem to get. <br />I want to sit and dream at times <br />without being disturbed. <br />However, that is easier said than done <br />for every quiet moment I seem to get <br />someone wants to disturb it with endless chatter <br />I don’t care much about. <br />So I close my ears <br />and hope that they will go away. <br /> <br />28 May 2008<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/all-i-ever-wanted-5/
