Will Granny be coming for Christmas, <br />The same as she does every year? <br />- No, we won't be seeing her this time. <br />She's too ill to travel, my dear. <br /> <br />She'll stay in the hospice for Christmas. <br />They have crackers and things, just like us. <br />But, my darling, your Granny is dying, <br />And she'd hate us to make any fuss. <br /> <br />We'll still have the presents to open, <br />With paper all over the place, <br />And, even though everyone hates it, <br />I expect we'll play Chasing the Ace. <br /> <br />And we'll still have the turkey and pudding, <br />And the tree standing out in the hall. <br />- But if Granny's not coming for Christmas, <br />It won't seem like Christmas at all.<br /><br />Paul Hansford<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/will-granny-be-coming/
