I wish the cold would melt to spring <br />When colours of the season bring, <br />A joy that autumn took away <br />And left me there alone that day, <br />For while the land so bleak and plain <br />I'll never feel that joy again, <br />Forever winter it shall be <br />Until that time releases me. <br /> <br />From this sentence that I live <br />So much I have but cannot give, <br />For no one now does seem to care <br />Imprisoned by my own despair, <br />A light may gleam within the sky <br />And yet it soon shall fade and die, <br />Not strong enough so it could last <br />Nor wipe the memories of my past. <br /> <br />For winter seems to have no end <br />Nor offers me a lasting friend, <br />When wind does blow a bitter chill <br />The restless air is never still, <br />I wish for me the sun would shine <br />To warm this lonely heart of mine, <br />As I await the ice to thaw <br />When frozen streams shall flow once more.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/when-frozen-streams-shall-flow-once-more/
