When your thoughts glide like a stately swan <br />in the lake of my emerald memories, <br />every day, my eyes laced with <br />silken sleep and chiselled marble dreams <br />search for something, <br />while standing near the tranquil horizon <br />I watch the melted evening’s golden orange lava <br />blending with the dark waters of the dusk. <br /> <br />When our thirsty eyes met <br />crystal goblets clank with intoxication <br />and my heartbeats staggered like a drunkard, <br />while frozen kisses thawed <br />in the warmth of the candle-lit romantic dinners <br />and our sheer sizzling shadows waltzed <br />throughout the night! <br /> <br />When the fish-eyed mermaid <br />shuts the oyster-lips of night <br />my flute breathes out our favourite melody <br />and dampens my sultry eyes, <br />we part to become strangers again <br />as your soul leaves my body, <br />I hear that stony silence screaming <br />and blinded by tears, <br />I turn my face to hide the hurt of my smiling scars! <br />Alas, I and my solitude <br />tread on the deserted path <br />alone, once again… <br /> <br />Copyright ©2008 Bharat B.
