It’s just gone half past eight <br />I’m extremely irritated ‘cause it’s getting late! <br />I’ve anxiously been awaiting your call <br />But it seems you’ve changed your mind after all. <br /> <br />Finally the clock strikes nine <br />& I find myself going out of my mind! <br />I start to imagine where you could be <br />& Why you would do this to me. <br /> <br />Maybe you’re with another girl <br />The thought makes me want to hurl! <br />You jerk …. <br />You said you’d never flirt. <br /> <br />Suddenly the phone rings <br />My heart skips a beat and begins to sing. <br />I knew you would call, <br />You said you would after all. <br /> <br />I rushed to answer saying I missed you <br />But to my surprise it wasn’t you. <br />As the caller began to speak <br />I felt the tears burn slowly down my check. <br /> <br />There must be some kind of mistake. <br />Why didn’t the other car just brake? <br />Please don’t say those words I dread. <br />No … it’s not true ….
