To come back to the city, <br />the city that was my home. <br />a place of pure tranquility, <br />to the beaches where I had roamed. <br /> <br />Majestic are all the palm trees, <br />coconuts spread out on the ground. <br />The sun that hit’s the surface <br />and the rain that comes around. <br /> <br />Where the shadow of the tall buildings <br />provide cool shade from the hot sun <br />and the playground when I was little <br />where it still gives great kid fun. <br /> <br />To the hot dusty roads and dark alleys <br />and the lush flowers still in bloom, <br />to the memories that surround it <br />and the love above that looms. <br /> <br />Loyal are the friends I’ve met so long ago <br />where friendships had all but faded <br />and immense love has still shown <br />from the warm welcomes they provided. <br /> <br />many gifts have been given <br />from the times that I had stayed <br />but no gift has been bested <br />from the love that they all gave.<br /><br />May Namoc<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/cagayan-my-city-my-home/
