I feel the warmth of summer's sun <br />As now the day has just begun <br />The little children having fun <br />Within the month of May. <br />While flowers all around me grow <br />The blossom on the breeze does blow <br />As butterflies and bees do go <br />Upon their busy way. <br />Amidst the trees the birds do sing <br />Then fly with grace upon the wing <br />The merry cheer that they do bring <br />With songs so sweet and gay. <br />Beneath the hills a silver stream <br />Meanders like a pleasant dream <br />I see the water brightly gleam <br />As diamonds dance and play. <br />The sky above of deepest blue <br />Does make the scene a perfect view <br />If I should wait the whole year through <br />I'd see no better day.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-warmth-of-summer-s-sun/
