As the winter's moonlight falls <br />Upon the crisp and frozen ground, <br />We share the night beneath the stars <br />Which shine so high above, <br />For as we walk the empty streets <br />We gaze unto the evening sky, <br />To see their greatness there displayed <br />And thank them for our love. <br /> <br />Although the night does feel so cold <br />While you are there I shall be warm, <br />And sense those lonely times no more, <br />Nor feel that bitter chill, <br />With memories left within the past <br />I look towards the future now, <br />And hope each day shall bring me joy <br />And pray it is God's will. <br /> <br />The puddles iced beside the kerb <br />And cracked like many dreams before, <br />But they will thaw as morning sun <br />Does greet the coming dawn, <br />Yet as the winter's moonlight falls <br />The way ahead seems crystal clear, <br />I feel the stars were made for us <br />For love this night was born. <br /> <br />06/08/08<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/as-the-winter-s-moonlight-falls/
