Let me Love you as the night loves the stars <br />that illuminate way off in a distance on dark nights. <br />Let me Love you with my thoughts as I wake on a cloud <br />from a quiet lonely sleep perfumed with times spent <br />with you and me together in my memory. <br /> <br />Let me Love you with my emotions as I reach out <br />to you in my heart, sending you peace and happiness <br />from day till night until we meet up again on a quiet <br />distant shore...amongst only sand and palms, <br />beneath a tree where the two of us can become one. <br /> <br /> <br />Let me Love you...you will see then we are still made <br />for one another like love for a letter, like two spoons <br />in a drawer left all alone in the dark...day in and day out. <br />Oh, let me Love you with my eyes as I swoop down to admire <br />your face, the nape of your neck and let me gaze into your pretty eyes. <br /> <br />Oh, please just let me Love you a little more again each day, <br />as I profess my Love for you in bottles that bob and float, <br />down crisp, clear streams that flow from the downpours of heaven <br />over silver lined clouds that babble and roar over the fall, plunging deep <br />until their standing in still waters awaiting your precious hands. <br /> <br />Let me love you as I already do over the chasm of time... <br />above the clouds in the sky that grow dim as the day advances. <br />Don't be afraid for I'm willing to take the plunge...I will take the chances. <br />I plead with God to hurl me to earth to be by your side once more, then I <br />pray, that you Let me Love you, just as I did many times before. <br /> <br />Written August 5th 2008.<br /><br />Shelley L Baxter<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/let-me-love-u/
