Always changing, day after day.
What to expect, what's coming my way?
Sometimes, I hate feeling like this.
To breathe easy, that is my wish.
Coughing and drowning, I choke, I gasp.
All the while knowing my life is ending too fast.
Oxygen, Nebulizers, Pills, and Vests.
Total chaos! My life is a mess.
What I wouldn't give for a normal life.
To survive long enough to be called someones wife.
I'm getting weaker, I don't know how much longer I can keep up the fight.
The things I would do to just take a breath.
Instead of contantly trying to escape my own death.

Amber Zitzloff

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/life-with-cystic-fibrosis/
