Moored up against an island <br />in the middle of nowhere <br />......is paradise. <br /> <br />Sunshine to warm me. <br />A waterfall to fill my ears <br />with the sound of the natural world, <br />its diamonds cascading endlessly <br />to break into chips at the bottom. <br /> <br />Butterflies and dragonflies dance, <br />taking their nectar from the rosebay willowherb <br />and common ragwort <br />on the river banks. <br /> <br />Greater burdock hang, batlike, from the ceiling <br />of the boat, <br />drying out to adorn a winter afloat. <br /> <br />Peace reigns. <br /> <br />No pains, <br />No chains to bind me, <br />No fetters, <br />What could be better? <br /> <br />Peace reigns.<br /><br />Francesca Johnson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/peace-reigns/
