The similarities in the lives of identical twins <br />prove my theory, our lives are run according <br />to preset programs, when it has been decreed <br />that I would be sad on a certain day, I am, even <br />though nothing has changed in the world, no event <br />took place, a new feeling simply invades my head <br />and takes over my life, seeing the world <br />as a vale of tears <br /> <br />When we suddenly react to cues that do not <br />originate in the outside world, the inner stream is <br />running free and no amount of rebellion can stop <br />the tide, what amused me yesterday might make <br />me cry today, the only relief is sitting still, not <br />moving my head; reading books I normally disdain, <br />just accept I’m being somebody else <br /> <br />Until this goes as suddenly as it came, I hope the <br />dark glasses worn by this stranger who takes over <br />my life from time to time and sees all of life as sad <br />and bleak, gets broken and torn so I can stay in my <br />choice to look at life through rose-coloured glasses…<br /><br />Robert Smith<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/rose-coloured-glasses-2/
