David Keig - Unfortunate Presents #2

2014-11-08 0 Dailymotion

I sent my poem 'Unfortunate Presents' to my mum in england who is 85.

this was her response!

Shame on you, ungrateful lad,
To criticise the gifts you've had.
Jazzy pants would be just fine
To decorate the washing line.

Wear the ties when skies are grey,
They'll help brighten up the viewer's day.
Jersey, small or large? I don't know which,
Just think - knit with love in every stitch.

To conclude this little verse -
Next year could bring something worse.
Now that you have upset Gladys
She might send you a tin of haggis!

From your Mum, who's past her prime,
But is lavendar-perfumed all the time!

David Keig

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/unfortunate-presents-2/
