No matter how much you try, <br />How much you cry <br />Even those close to you never seem to get it; <br />Never seem to understand that; <br />That you don't need them insulting you, <br />Putting you down; <br />Making you seem as if you are a failure <br /> <br />You do not brag <br />You try not to complain <br />You don't say you are supreior, <br />Because you know you're not <br />You know you are nothing special <br />You know you are very particular with who you trust <br />Sometimes that isn't enough, <br />You still come across as a bad person; <br />A selfish person <br /> <br />People say, 'Just make yourself happy.' <br />How can you do that when you are alone? <br />And the few people you do have; <br />You never seem to please <br />When you're trying all day to please them; <br />Pulling yourself down at the same time; <br />Then get insulted <br />You feel somewhat alone; <br />Unappreciated; <br />Failed <br /> <br />You may call it overdramatic; <br />I call it brave <br />Brave that even when they break you down; <br />You always come back; <br />Giving all your heart and soul to please them; <br />The ones you just want to be happy; <br />But that is never good enough<br /><br />Nerissa Morton<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/never-good-enough/
