Autumn, thy dwindling leaves, <br />And every moment as it leaves; <br />Thoughts, reluctant to heed, <br />Between joy and pain, they sway. <br />The leaf gives away finally, <br />As the gush of wind, takes her away. <br /> <br />Yesteryears like falling leaves, <br />Swirl away in the autumn breeze. <br />They are crushed under my feet, <br />As I walk down the barren road. <br />My heart aches, <br />And wishes for a solemn abode. <br /> <br />There is a sense of peace <br />In the autumn’s dancing leaves. <br />I looked at them with a smile, <br />Dreams of spring at a distance. <br />Standing the chilly wind, while shimmering but still, <br />A lamp glowed in silence. <br /> <br />Though fallen apart, my yesteryears, <br />They color my path and remove my fears. <br />Teaching life and its tumultuous course. <br />It inspires and strengthens my hope as I pray, <br />To make every leaf green, <br />That which had turned grey.<br /><br />Rashid Meras Pillai<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/come-autumn/
