Take me away from all the things that worry me <br />Show me the calm cool waters <br />And shine the sun upon me. <br />Let me feel the freedom of the river <br />Show me how to become strong where I am weak <br />Like the white water jumping over the rocks. <br />Teach me how to deal with all that ails me <br />Give me the strength to hold on <br />Because I am not ready to leave this world yet <br />Just take me back where I belong. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I wrote this poem in November, just after burying my mother who died of emphysema the day before Thanksgiving. These are similar words that she said to me before I flew home to MASS.
