Everyday we see them <br />standing tall and noble everywhere. <br />Most of the time we pass <br />giving them not a second thought. <br />All we see is greenery there, <br />we never think of the variety <br />and the effect they have on our lives. <br />Nor do we think of all the things <br />that live within them there. <br />Each has its own family <br />that within the foliage survive, <br />some are minute often difficult to see. <br />While others bring joy to our eyes <br />as they fly across the skies. <br />Some trees bare fruit, <br />a bounty of food for us all. <br />There are so many species <br />and we should be thankful <br />that God gave us them all. <br />We should feel sad <br />when someone’s axe hits <br />and another tree falls. <br /> <br />18 August 2008<br /><br />David Harris<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/an-ode-to-trees/
