Sometimes I feel angry, <br />for I am the tormentor, <br />the beast that oppresses, <br />and puts in cages, <br />the birds of my thoughts, <br />I keep them closed, <br />shut away, <br />where no one can know. <br />Sometimes I get upset, <br />for not being able to express, <br />to speak up, <br />as I shy away, <br />and even the littlest things, <br />are left unsaid. <br />One day maybe, <br />I’ll say it all, <br />open up my heart, <br />find the keys of the cages, <br />and free the birds of my thoughts.<br /><br />Mehreen Tahir<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/caged-14/
