What makes you always think <br />that God is a He? <br />For all that matter <br />He could be a child with a glee <br />or simply be a She! <br /> <br />If God is a child <br />Then he would be playing <br />with the clouds above <br />Every now and then looking <br />at us people fretting and slogging <br /> <br />He would laugh at our betises <br />and excuse our follies <br />For no heart can be <br />benevolent than a child's <br /> <br />He would hug us when we are deplorable <br /> Smile at us when we are huffy <br />and deliver us from the atrocities. <br /> <br />For all that matter <br />It could simply be a She <br />A lovely lady who looks <br />At us as she dries her long hair <br />as we plod and trudge <br /> <br />She chuckles as we trip <br />She nurses us when we slip <br />and hugs us when we flip <br /> <br />For no heart can be kinder <br />than that of a woman <br />No eyes can be as forgiving as her's <br />She is the one who procreates <br />She could be the mother of us all.<br /><br />Reshma Ramesh<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/if-god-was-a-she/
