Why should I lower my expectations, <br />To accomodate someone else's incompetence? <br />Why should I accept mediocrity... <br />Because that's the highest the bar has been risen. <br />And anything above that, <br />Is asking for miracles! <br /> <br />Dumbed down you may be, <br />With a philosophy bordering on self neglect. <br />That's you and the way you have chosen to see your life. <br />But 'ignorance-is-bliss' I can not dismiss... <br />To skip along and whistle like this mindset is alright! <br />A drugging has been done to delight blind appetites! <br /> <br />Who wins a debate as the nation is set to flames... <br />With clear leadership nonexisting, <br />Is a moral shame being played out as a blame game. <br />And folks treating this like a boxing match... <br />As they discuss who looks presidental, <br />While thieves seek an escape hatch...is sick! Okay? <br /> <br />You can say what you wish. <br />But millions of people observing this, <br />Have to see deception being praised. <br />And the question of expectation that I have raised, <br />Seems the wrong thing to ask... <br />In these days when appearances are more important, <br />Than the death of reality in the minds of those crazed!<br /><br />Lawrence S.
