A cool breeze of air blew in tonight <br />got the extra blankets out for my bed. <br />Lit the furnace pilot light <br />I'm feeling a fuzziness in my eyes and head. <br /> <br />I think I'm coming down with the flu <br />I seem to always get this time of year. <br />For the chilling air that Autumn winds bring <br />making Autumns changes on earth everywhere. <br /> <br />The trees start to prepare for their winters sleep <br />And most all of the birds have flown away. <br />The leaves turn different colors of greens and orange <br />their colors that Autumns artistic hand displays. <br /> <br />I know that winter is right behind <br />for I can feel it in the air. <br />The scenes that Autumn now displays <br />will soon be covered with a white, like hair. <br /> <br />Old man time marches on <br />can't stop it, for many have tried. <br />So for now I will put an extra blanket on the bed <br />and turn my furnaces fire on high.<br /><br />Linda Winchell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-cool-breeze/
