Words of love <br />blossom from your mouth <br /> <br />& tentatively stepping forth <br />tip toe across the space <br /> <br />between us <br />leaving footprints on the air <br /> <br />hijacking my laughter <br />to enter into my mouth <br /> <br />& tobogganing <br />down my central nervous system <br /> <br />running riot <br />amongst my bloodstream <br /> <br />playing hide & seek <br />with my pulse <br /> <br />racing madly ahead of it <br />then coyly hiding from it <br /> <br />your love <br />coursing through my veins <br /> <br />setting fire to <br />my imagination <br /> <br />delighting each & every cell <br /> <br />lighting up <br />my red corpuscles <br /> <br />until I(beside) (my self) (by now) <br /> <br />come to my senses <br />& do the proper thing <br /> <br />translate it back <br />to you <br />(speaking solely in tongues) <br /> <br />in the lovely language <br />of Kiss <br /> <br />(although there is no need to <br />as you are fully fluent in it) <br /> <br />words & kisses <br />leading us to bed <br /> <br />where we all passion <br />spent <br /> <br />lie gently together <br /> <br />as a fallen leaf <br />may rest <br /> <br />amongst the tiny arms <br />of grass <br /> <br />the empty swing <br />still swinging <br /> <br />as the sun <br />sets.<br /><br />Dónall Dempsey<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/words-of-love-for-janice/
