Like a mermaid <br />you lie washed up <br /> <br />on the beach. <br /> <br />We, its only <br />people. <br /> <br />I bury first <br />your ankles <br /> <br />leaving ten tiny toes <br />naked just for a whim <br /> <br />then proceed <br />to the knees. <br /> <br />Your patellas vanish. <br /> <br />You squirm <br />wiggle & giggle <br /> <br />as your polka-dot <br />bikini bottom <br /> <br />disappears <br />beneath the sands...in...time. <br /> <br />Oooops...there goes your belly button. <br /> <br />Then, tenderly <br />I cover each breast <br /> <br />leaving only two startled nipples <br />standing up for themselves. <br /> <br /> <br />Only your <br />head now <br /> <br />exists <br /> <br />its fiery ringlets <br />spilling out from...flowing out of <br /> <br />as if it were <br />a perpetual well <br /> <br />of fiery tresses. <br /> <br />“Un-bury me! ” <br />you demand <br /> <br />& I obey <br />your command <br /> <br />uncovering...discovering <br />bit by bit <br /> <br />the pleasures of your flesh <br /> <br />your sex <br />marks the spot <br /> <br />I bringing once again <br />to light <br /> <br />your buried treasure. <br /> <br />We make love <br />you still half submerged <br /> <br />The tide <br />lapping & laughing <br /> <br />at our heels.<br /><br />Doral Deepset<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/buried-treasure/
