Now as the candle flickers and <br />The wick is burning low, <br />Amidst the still and darkened room <br />Lit only by its glow, <br />I try to write a letter but <br />The pain too much to bear, <br />For I just can't express my love <br />When she's no longer there. <br /> <br />A blank page lies before me on <br />The table stained with tears, <br />I stare upon the candle for <br />Its end now slowly nears, <br />The flame is growing taller and <br />The scarlet wax does run, <br />Right down the silver holder on <br />My letter yet begun. <br /> <br />And now it's getting very late <br />The stars do light the sky, <br />I stare out from my window as <br />The night now passes by, <br />Yet still the words don't come to me <br />I've nothing left to say, <br />And so I watch the candle as <br />It slowly fades away.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/candle-12/
