There was a young boy who was very sad <br />asked God that he be granted just one wish he prayed. <br />That if he could, and he really would <br />steal childrens faces smiles, that they'd made. <br /> <br />He'd sneak in childrens bedroom windows <br />and steal all the smiles that he saw. <br />Then place them in a jar, and tighten down the lid <br />and lock it away, in a kitchen cabinet drawer! <br /> <br />It made him feel much better, he thought <br />then a smile on his face he felt appear! <br />And knew of what he must do <br />he saw his vision, oh so clear! <br /> <br />He snuck back through town windows <br />replaced all the blank sad faces, with their smiles <br />and vowed to never pray again for such <br />to be this little, Thief Of Smiles.<br /><br />Linda Winchell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/thief-of-smiles/
