In the starlight we kissed heaven, <br />in the noonday sun we lay; <br />baring all our heart's intentions <br />never fearing what we'd say, <br />you stooped to find me in the twilight, <br />led me to the light of day. <br /> <br />Now we argue discontented, <br />not meaning most of what we mention; <br />darkness in our minds invented, <br />where is that truth we tended, <br />when we found the light in darkness, <br />freed from all that hid our way? <br /> <br />Hold my hand and walk on boldly, <br />never knowing what's in store; <br />for I know whatever's rendered, <br />all that will ever come our way, <br />cannot darken love's resplendence, <br />makes the highest mountains sway. <br /> <br />Speak of times, of past remembered, <br />in the valleys green and lush; <br />when we said sweetly 'I adore you' <br />kept safe, held true, in love, <br />waiting for the flowers to blossom, <br />before the frosts of winter came. <br /> <br />What was true is now and always, <br />sun shines on behind the clouds; <br />winter but a sign of springtime, <br />darkness just a passing shroud, <br />love's light is always and forever, <br />silent, shining, never fades.<br /><br />David Taylor<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/love-s-flame-2/
