The sounds of the sea are now so far away, <br />I strain to hear the never-ending waves come in, <br />At this distance, all I hear is my imagination, <br />Magnifying the wind, as it rushes by this emptiness. <br /> <br />Disembodied flight announcements, <br />Float away, as if repelled by my thoughts, <br />That long to return to the place I used to know, <br />My heaven on earth. <br /> <br />Whether imagination or reality, <br />Blend so wonderfully to bestow, <br />An almost magical quality to our special places, <br />I’m not so sure. <br /> <br />But I do know I miss the rush of waves, <br />Clinging wet sand beneath our feet, <br />As we walked to the far end of the beach, <br />With no intention of turning back.<br /><br />Anita Atina<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/waves-rush-by/
