I am a mighty polar bear <br />Who never did do wrong, <br />I raised a family of my own <br />And once my will was strong, <br />I liked to wander far and wide <br />Across the caps I'd roam, <br />But every year things seemed to change <br />It feels no longer home. <br />My world is falling to the sea <br />I've had to pay the price, <br />I have nowhere that I can live <br />My land is melting ice. <br /> <br />I am an Emperor penguin <br />And I have a tale to tell, <br />I raised a family of my own <br />Together we did dwell, <br />Each egg I cradled carefully <br />While bitter winds did blow, <br />But every year things seemed to change <br />I watched it slowly go. <br />My world is falling to the sea <br />I've had to pay the price, <br />I have nowhere that I can live <br />My land is melting ice. <br /> <br />I am a lonely Arctic seal <br />Who's resting on the shore, <br />So many of us used to come <br />In years that passed before, <br />But sadly now I'm all-alone <br />My friends no longer here, <br />Yet still I wait in yearning <br />That one day they shall appear. <br />My world is falling to the sea <br />I've had to pay the price, <br />I have nowhere that I can live <br />My land is melting ice.<br /><br />ANDREW BLAKEMORE<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/melting-ice/
