First it was at Sessa house-cum-cafe <br />On way from Bomdila to Tezpur, <br />I saw a grey-coloured cat: <br />Soon it was at my feet, <br />While I was eating chicken in food, <br />Then she climbed with both paws <br />On my black trousers, leaving ash marks. <br />I gave her to smell one piece <br />Of bone: she finished it and came back <br />To tap me for another! <br /> <br />Later the next day, at Bhalukhpong, <br />We sat in a ramshackle restaurant <br />To have our lunch, Warshong and I. <br />Again a similar coloured cat <br />Came selecting me out of all persons <br />Eating their lunch, and got her reward. <br /> <br />I am getting converted slowly <br />To be an animal lover, like my wife <br />In Mumbai or Sameer in Pune: <br />But how unreasonable I get in this, <br />Will be known in course of time!<br /><br />Daniel Trevelyn Joseph<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/cats-instinct/
