As I listen to you my wonderful music <br />Soft, beautiful, and calming, <br />The notes that come through your speakers <br />Calms me down when I am angered <br /> <br />I tried to keep you off my mind <br />But when you’re all I have its hard, <br />As I listen to your pain, your sorrow <br />I fall deeper in love with you. <br /> <br />I feel the thump of you <br />Underneath my dancing feet, <br />And the fast beat of my heart <br />When you’re not with me. <br /> <br />As I listen to your stories <br />And see them in my head, <br />I can’t tell you that I love you <br />When you are merely just air. <br /> <br />I come to the place you live <br />Where you’re born and where you die, <br />I can’t help but smile <br />When your words come from my voice <br /> <br />Its almost like music can talk to me <br />Cries, laughs, and thinks, <br />I can hear it calling on its telephone <br />And I answer it with my mind. <br /> <br />Sometimes I dance with you <br />Our bodies move with the beat, <br />As you move through me <br />You disappear with the beat of my heart. <br /> <br />I can’t give you my undying love <br />When you are just a voice, <br />I can’t give you a big hug <br />When you are not really there. <br /> <br />I love you my music <br />As you stay by my soul, <br />You will be there forever <br />And will never ever go. <br /> <br />(wrote for my love of music)<br /><br />Heather Stephens<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ode-to-music-2/
