Us boaters <br />have the knack <br />of drowning <br />inanimate objects <br />through no lack of care. <br /> <br />It's a risk we have <br />to take, <br />when on a lake, <br />river or canal. <br /> <br />May sound banal <br />but <br />water is our enemy <br />and our friend, <br />and in the end <br />we must respect it. <br /> <br />My generator drowned today. <br /> <br />It's the latest <br />in a list. <br />Mobile and radio phone <br />I've kissed <br />goodbye. <br /> <br />Now my source of 240 volts <br />halts <br />its output. <br /> <br />A knock on the bathtap <br />caused a mishap. <br /> <br />My tap poured <br />and poured. <br />Genny in shower <br />(storage place, you see) <br />drowned in an hour. <br /> <br />(My generator's booklet said 'Keep it clean and dry.
