SEEK NOT, <br />a pretty face, <br />Chaste as Minerva, <br />gorgeous as the Belgian lace, <br />starry eyes flashing fires <br />Body an Adonis attire. <br />Hair a tawny hue, <br />Voice a honey tinged dew <br />And crystal brows the moons despair <br />And eyes Hadraneil’s* pair. <br />Lips that seem like roses fed <br />And cheeks <br />A tinge of vermeil red. <br /> <br />SEEK INSTEAD, <br />a mind pure and smooth <br />facing the sun of divine truth. <br />A sea of calm desires, <br />draped in cool heavenly fire. <br />Heart with lots of love entwined, <br />A breath that jingles with soothing wind. <br />Words with softer music speaks, <br />Golden notes of Beethoven reeks. <br /> <br /> <br />Corals beneath the oceans dream, <br />Gems of emeralds, <br />rubies, sapphires in stream. <br />A tender heart, a loyal mind, <br />kin to heavenly kind. <br />A steadfast friend, which I can trust, <br />as lasting pyramids in time’s gust. <br /> <br />In his copious bosom <br />pour my penurious heart of woes, <br />the swarming bees <br />play hide and seek <br />and murmur with the rose. <br /> <br />Where, these are not, <br />I shall refrain <br />From arcadian pleasures <br />much acclaimed, <br />Oaks fall when reed stands <br />For Christmas comes but once a year <br /> <br />P.S. * Hadraneil -He is the angel of love, who is the gatekeeper of the second gate in heaven and he awakens our memory of eternal love. <br /> <br />ANJALI SINHA <br />22-11-2008<br /><br />ANJALI SINHA<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/truly-beautiful/
