How do we really know someone, it’s certainly hard to tell <br />You trust, you love & have faith that this person will treat your daughter well. <br />But suddenly your world caves in with unexpected news, the shock alone is hard to bear, there were never any clues. <br />Apparently your son in law isn’t who you think, he’s the reason your daughter has lost her home & now she’s teetering on the brink. <br />He said the car was stolen but that was just another lie, <br />No bills were paid, he forged her name, and all we could do is cry. <br />He left his family homeless & he seemed to be handling it well, <br />“I knew your family would take us in” was the story he would tell. <br />He turned our world upside down & my heart just kept on breaking, <br />But the anger I felt toward this man is something I wasn’t faking. <br />He’s “gambled” with his life for years & the lies are still apparent, <br />But now that we are on to him, he just seems so transparent. <br />He claims to be the “best Dad in the world”, how dare he be so bold, <br />I just pray that one day his son will realize that he’s nothing but heartless & cold.<br /><br />Sandra Maiella<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/how-do-we-really-know-someone/
