Dear Lord God, please send me your divine grace <br />I come to you on bended knee in my hour of need <br />I come to you in the simplicity of a child <br />Asking my Father for comfort and guidance <br />Knowing you know what is best for me <br />I do not ask for specific things because, <br />As a child does not know what they need <br />I too, do not know what I need to find comfort <br />And the pain of my own human failings cause me much sorrow. <br /> <br />Dear Lord God, I ask you to open my heart <br />And empty me of all that is causing me to despair <br />Please open my eyes so that I may see clearly my path <br />My vision is limited to what I know, <br />Please open my mind so that I may learn from my mistakes <br />And be open to the opportunities before me <br />Please open my ears that I may hear your voice in others <br />And may my actions be pleasing in your sight. <br /> <br />Dear Lord God, I thank you for your divine grace <br />I thank you for your unending mercy and forgiveness <br />I thank you for my faith and my conscience that guides me <br />It is a part of everything I do and think. <br />I thank you for the family and friends who are in my life <br />But most of all, Dear Lord God, I thank you for your Love <br />It is alive in me and gives me hope and joy till the end of my days. <br /> <br />Amen<br /><br />Kathleen West<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ramblings-of-a-prayer/
